∞ The scope of the redevelopment included: two new operating theatres, refurbishment of existing theatres, a new ‘Day of Surgery’ admissions areas, refurbished Central Sterile Supply Department, upgrading ceilings throughout the corridors and construction of a new plant deck. Nuvo Group was successfully selected from a full public tender as the preferred contractor for the $5.5 million Electrical, Technology and Data packages. Nuvo’s extensive Healthcare track record including the recent successful delivery of the Warringal Private Hospital Redevelopment were vital in being awarded the packages. Nuvo undertook a full Design and Construct contract over a period of 18 months. This involved an upfront full redesign of the electrical plans, lighting, systems and equipment schedule. By utilising and reusing selected existing electrical assets that were marked for removal, cost savings for the customer were achieved throughout. A high attention to detail in the planning of Critical Shutdowns by Nuvo’s project team allowed the Epworth Freemasons to continue to operate smoothly throughout the project duration with the absolute minimum of interruption to staff and patients. Technical elements of the project involved: BMS, lighting control, shutdown, generator, intercom, UPS, medical systems, nurse call, access control, CCTV and switchboard upgrades. Nuvo’s expertise in Healthcare allowed for full compliance with AS3003 for body protected areas while minimising client spend.∞
