∞ Given Nuvo’s experience within sensitive environments including heritage listed buildings, the company was invited to tender as part of a select group and was able to demonstrate a level of differentiation leading to the award of the project. Nuvo was appointed as Head Contractor for the works and was responsible for the programming of all trades, as well as maintenance of a safe working environment.
The project was to be completed within a definitive and challenging timeframe, whilst mid-year Parliamentary recess was in effect. This required the programming of numerous trades and activities simultaneously within a rigid programme, whilst maintaining the highest quality of workmanship.
The works involved the refurbishment of existing lighting fittings that had been in-situ for decades, and the installation and French polishing of an ‘Antique look’ timber upstand around the perimeter of the café to house extrusion strip lighting. All lighting was required to be Dali dimmable, via a Philips Dynalite lighting control system. This required the careful modification of light fittings to maintain a heritage look whilst providing the ability to integrate with modern lighting control technology.
Nuvo delivered this project to the customer’s complete satisfaction and has established the company as a preferred contractor for the Department of Parliamentary Services.
